I would have to disagree with anyone who says vinyl is a better format hands down.

Songs from today need to be remastered specifically for vinyl in order to take advantage of its full potential. Cd s should be able to sound as good better than vinyl but business decisions often lead that to not be the case. This can make the difference between a tiresome wall of sound and a pleasing listening. Yes digital is better in terms of accuracy but vinyl is more accurate in terms of reproducing what the ears are actually capable of hearing in a hall or venue at distance ie imperfect sound not the hd sound you get when a microphone is placed next to a voice or instrument and so when played back sounds unreal even though.

The end result is that vinyl usually has substantially better mastering than their cd counterparts.
