Is Shadow Storm Granite Very Hard

I m considering using shadow storm marble in my master bathroom renovation this spring.

Is shadow storm granite very hard.

I am getting differences of opinions on what it is quartzite granite hard marble. Shadow storm stone isn t likely a genuine quartzite but instead a hard marble that displays some quartz like properties. The stone features beautiful veins. We found shadow storm and white fantasy stone that we liked.

Trying to see what professionals feel it is and their experience with it in kitchens. As always one slab can look completely different than the next but the overall look of shadow storm is a white granite with pearl and light grey striations. I chose shadow storm for our kitchen. We bought shadow storm and were told it was quartzite which is very very hard.

The dealer insisted it was extremely hard and was a true quartzite. Literally it feels like sunshine came into the kitchen when the new counters were installed. In my humble opinion shadow storm was the absolute closet dupe to cararra marble in a solid stone. Going from brown granite to a white quartz reflected versus absorbed the light.

My understanding is that it has the chemical makeup to be categorized as marble but is not as delicate. My cabinets are a very creamy white. Comparable in appearance to marble shadow storm quartzite is a white gray and black quartzite that has wonderful difference. Since quartzite is a more durable material than marble it is able to withstand the daily wear and tear of high traffic areas such as a kitchen countertop and main bathroom vanity top.

The granite supplier referred to both fantasy brown and shadow storm as hard marble which i believe is what quartzite is.
